Mysterious Lights
August 17, 2020
Strange lights have been spotted around Ban Pa, a remote village on the eastern side of the island long wrapped in mystery. Eyewitnesses claim to have seen ghostly figures and other supernatural phenomena in the area, adding to the region's eerie reputation.
“We’re not entirely sure what people may have witnessed,” said Vice President Jan Park. “But we strongly advise both citizens and tourists to stay away from Ban Pa and its surroundings. The local residents are known to be unfriendly toward outsiders, and the area remains hazardous due to abandoned Japanese-era structures—possibly even old land mines and unexploded ordnance.”
Ban Pa has become something of a legend in our nation, and its secrets continue to spark curiosity. However, people should really avoid this place as much as they can.
Twelve Hours of Horror and Despair
A terrifying incident occurred near Kiu Vongsa, where an elderly woman became trapped under a tree root after a fall. In shock and completely exhausted, she lost her voice and was unable to call for help, even as people searched for her nearby.
“It was horrible… I was there for twelve hours,” said Nang Lee, her voice still shaking.
Thankfully, the ordeal ended on a positive note. Nang was eventually found and rescued, suffering only minor bruises and a few scratches.

Many myths circulate throughout our nation — tales of ancient idols, vengeful spirits, monsters lurking in the woods, and long-lost treasures. We're not alone in this; much of Southeast Asia shares a rich tradition of similar folklore.
They say every legend holds a sliver of truth, and perhaps that's true. But more often than not, these supernatural tales have down-to-earth explanations. People lost in the deep jungle may have fallen victim to bandits. The traveler who survived the fall wasn't saved by a forest spirit but rather by plain luck. And the ghosts are often nothing more than projections of a guilty conscience.
Storytelling is a deeply human instinct. Today, we invent new myths, for example, about aliens watching from the skies or hidden Japanese storage caves — modern echoes of old tales about gods and treasures.
Imagination knows no bounds, and sometimes it veers into the absurd. People will even spread horrifying stories about our fair and just state, just because they were fined for speeding.

Film Review by Nok Dam — Wonder Woman 1984
Wonder Woman 1984 is a colorful spectacle, but nothing more. Gal Gadot attempts to embody a mythic heroine, yet her character spends more time in shopping malls than facing meaningful conflict. The film lacks any real struggle unless we count the viewer’s struggle to finish watching it.
The first Wonder Woman was better.
