Insurrection Averted!
September 22, 2002
The British imperialists have never forgiven us for driving them out of our homeland. Their bitterness endures, and even decades later, they continue to meddle in our affairs, hoping to corrupt the good citizens of Lamang. Sadly, not all among us have the strength to resist the seductive pull of imperialist gold.
What began as a seemingly routine strike by timber workers in the island's eastern region quickly escalated into a full-blown rebellion. Fueled by Western influence and greed, the traitorous rebels turned their weapons against riot police, spilling the blood of their fellow countrymen.
Leading this treacherous uprising was fraudster Lani Sayavong, who has long benefited from the undeserved prestige of sharing a surname with our revered leaders. But his days of impunity are over. Thanks to the swift and courageous action of young commander Nuon Bintang, the rebellion was crushed in its infancy. Though a handful of rebels fled into the dense jungle, it won't be long before they are all caught and brought to justice, where they will receive a fair, yet merciless trial.
Young Love Drama
A teenage girl from Tiger Bay was arrested after she reportedly threatened her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.
"She's crazy," said the young man, now her ex. "I wouldn't be surprised if she actually murdered someone one day."
After spending the night in a police station, she was sent back to her parents. Authorities hope that this experience will serve as a wake-up call.

Betrayal — there's no word more chilling.
It wears many faces, but none more vile than treason. Treason against one's homeland. What kind of creature would sell itself to foreign powers and cast aside everything we've built together? Who, in their right mind, would willingly tear down their own beautiful country?
Disagreement has its place. Debate is part of a healthy society. But the moment innocent lives are taken, a line is crossed. Unforgivable. These are not revolutionaries. They are terrorists. Mindless, destructive terrorists.
We must root every last one out before this disease spreads. These parasites hiding among us cannot be ignored. It is your duty, as citizens, to act. Report these traitors, these wicked contra-revolutionaries. Help our nation get rid of these cockroaches before they drag you down with them.

Film Review by Nok Dam — Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever
To the untrained eye, this might look like a standard action thriller. In truth, it plays more like an unintentional parody. Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu are both talented, but even their star power can’t salvage this spectacular mess.
Yes, there’s constant action and plenty of flashy explosions, but the film reeks of directionlessness. It's as if an overfunded amateur was handed the reins with no idea what to do.
It's a shame that such a terrible thing was created by a fellow South Asian.
